north. |
Region
Our municipality belongs to the commuter belt of the bigger and better known
cities Olinda and Recife in the state fo Pernambuco, one of the country´s major
tourist areas. The distance to the old town centre of Olinda - one of Brazil´s
cultural centres - is just 15 km, and it’s approximately 23 km to the capital
and metropolis Recife. The international airport “Aeroporto Internacional do
Recife” is only 33 km away.
The most beautiful beaches are located out of town, to the south and north.
Where we are, in the north, in Paulista you will find the beaches of Janga, Pau
Amarela (closest beach to our guest house), Nossa Sra. do Ó and Maria Farinha.
Our neighbouring district Maria Farinha is a popular summer holiday spot with a
beautiful beach. The sand is fine and white, the palm tree skirted beach invites
for swimming. Here the sea is ideal for all kinds of water sports. At low tide
small boats, yachts and jet skies can anchor right at the beach. From Maria
Farinha boat trips are offered to the mangrove swamps and other beautifulbeauty
spots, i.e. the neighbouring green island of Itamaracá.
Also located in Maria Farinha is one of the nicest leisure and water-parks in
the north-east, the
Veneza Water
Park.
Who wants to try something different to the more simple bars and restaurants of
the area or who misses the flair of a big city can take the bus or the car to
get to Olinda (approximately 10 min away) or Recife (30 min). Both cities offer
a variety of cultural and leisure activities and have a bustling nightlife. The
manyl dance- and music events, discos, bars and seaside taverns, restaurants,
shopping malls, museums, cinemas and theatres should be enough even for high
demands.
